jon burgerman x stuart witter's worry knott desktop sculpture
Worryknott is a new collaborative work between artists Jon Burgerman
and Stuart Witter, of UK based makers collective; Lowlife.
Worryknott is also a desktop sculpture designed by Jon Burgerman, which charts the inevitability of getting tangled up in anxiety and its ultimate choking futility. It is the first time one of Jon Burgerman's intricately doodled compositions has been rendered as a sculpture.
each hand-cast 135 x 120 x 80mm white resin sculpture is finished in a protective lacquer, and will come hand numbered and signed by Jon Burgerman. this first release will be limited to a strict edition of 50 and will be made available from the beginning of August exclusively from www.jonburgerman.com on a strictly first come first served basis

TOYSREVIL: what is Worry Knott?
JON: Worryknott is about how when you worry you tie yourself up with anxiety which leads to more stress which tightens you up even more. It's a downward spiral and no matter how many times it's happened to you before you just can't help it happening again.
TRE: is this the final and only "colorway" it will come in?
JON: Yes, the pure white version will be the original and limited edition version. There may be other editions but only 50 white ones which will be numbered and signed by hand. It'll be like an editioned print, only a mini-sculpture.
TRE: coolness. the finished sculpt so far is exceptional in it's ability to put your drawings into 3-dimension, IMHO - did you sculpt it yourself?
JON: I sculpted a rough shape and designed the elements / faces to be added to it but this was only a guide for Stuart who turned it into a wonderful object. We worked very closely together on it, refining the sculpt many many times until it was perfect.
