tokidoki's pink taberon kaiju and my character-cute-kaiju-theory
and so there's a PINK-version of Tokidoki/Simone Legno TABERON Kaiju [blogged] due to drop late-August [via] currently on pre-order @ TokyoToy [image via] @ with a 200-pcs limit (with only 100 sold outside of Japan) ... this is in addition to the GREY colorway (perhaps exclusive to) FEWMANY [via]
as part of Wonderwall's Kaiju-For-Grown-Ups (KFGU)-series, mayhaps this design concept seems "out of place", compared to "traditional" kaiju, with more of a art-toy/urban-vinyl-slant - which frankly, might not necessarily be a bad thing, as perhaps this maybe the next evolution (if not an attempt to venture into the "art toy market", IMHO) - with more focus on creating; what i personally term, "character-cute kaiju" - as evident in TABERON (and i believe subsequent offerings to come) which crossovers both toy-genres, and thereby creating a "new market"? *IMHO*
and while the PINK needs some getting used to (some much for my inner-pinkness LOL), i am sure there will be uber-colorways and clear-treatments waiting by the wings ... personally, what would be cool is if the eyes could blink and the wee-mask-fella (mid-belly) could actually be PULLED-OUT to reveal another creature, yes??? .. yes im getting ahead of myself again ... gawds, i feel so shallow ... *heh*
