justice league of america on the silver screen

personally, im hoping there'll be more of 'Mad Max' than 'Happy Feets' in the big-screen adaptation of The Justice League Of America, with George Miller at the helm - as reported by Variety:
Warner Bros. is moving aggressively ahead with the bigscreen adaptation of DC Comics' "Justice League of America," with George Miller aboard to direct. Project, which is in the initial phases of casting, is a pre-strike priority for the studio, which needs a superhero tentpole for 2009.

Batman and Superman are active properties for the studio, though the next installment in the "Superman" franchise has taken a backseat to "Justice League" in part because Warners is so keen on the "Justice League" script by Kieran and Michele Mulroney. Beyond the Caped Crusader and Man of Steel, "Justice League" will likely feature Wonder Woman, the Flash and Aquaman. The Green Lantern is also featured in the comicbook.

Several sources close to the project said that Christian Bale, star of the revived "Batman" film franchise, and Brandon Routh, star of Bryan Singer's "Superman Returns," would probably not appear in the movie.

my humble thoughts on the matter:

01. i hope the powers that be does not go by way of the G.I.Joe movie and rename it "Justice League" instead of 'JLA' or some-such amalgam; to make it "internationally palatable"

02. why have a different Superman and Batman in the JLA, when they already exist in celluloid? (ie. Brandon+Christian) i see no sense in this ... unless someone tells me tis a multiverse-occurance - if not, either you hawk me a Year: One-story or animate it instead *LOL*

03. or maybe it WILL be animated? read JusticeLeague-on-film [via]

04. is it just me or are DC-characters not exactly (instantly) recognizable outside of their superhero-spandex? - as opposed to Marvel's? (ie: Xmen) even if their spandex are redesigned, it'll be a watered-down version of their comicbook-versions, or thoroughly unrecognizable (like their counterparts in Smallville) ...

any thoughts?
