skate bat by kill your idol toys @ art basel miami
Supertouch was down at Art Basel and they scored a toy-scooper with the release of SKATE BAT by Kill Your Idols Toys [www] and manufactured by Gentle Giant - with the design based on (and in honor of) skatepunk artist Richard Sanchez's vintage B&W illustration - also released in tandem with a new art book titled: "Punk Is Dead, Punk Is Everything" (published by Gingko Press / what).
Supertouch reports: "...the 7” tall figure will be released in this original monochrome colorway in a ridiculously small run of FIVE pieces total starting Thursday, December 4th, while a second colorway will be released in a larger run in Spring 2009 at yet-to-be-announced retailers." - Both toy and artwork is currently on display at “Kill Your Idols” punk installation space @ 3852 N. Miami Ave in Miami’s Design District.
The signature is supposed to be backwards, so while you invert the pic, you mess up the artists name and the look of the piece. Just a heads up, not a slam on you.
