New York Comic Convention 2009 Ends

As all conventions go (or at least the experience with my lone single local convention has show me) the whirlwind honeymoon ends on the third day (or second in some cases) and both courting parties (aka con-attendees & booth-vendors) part their ways and go back to their own separate lives and dreams, the taste (both memorable and forgettable) lingers still on their lips, balmy-fresh ... aaahh the romance of pop-culture consumerism is such bittersweet sorrow ... and what most folks do not see, are the last few remaining hours of the convention floor, before it is to be returned to the space-owners - kinda like a huge right-angled pumpkin-carriage, really (heh) ... the emptied display shelves waiting to be dismantled, the ripped packaging boxes pieces that once filled the promise of toy-lurve, random loose paper-flyers that pepper the floor like some hollowed-out movie studio backlot ... aaahhh yes, the CONVENTION TEARING DOWN & WRAP-UP (rolling recycled tumbleweed not inclusive)... sad, isn't it? (depressingly so).

[Cue Louie Armstrong's "It's A Wonderful World"...]
