As a 10 inch tall prototype toy; YOUZA org sports a rollypolly body-form frozen in mid-swagger, and possessing a face reminiscent of a Cylon with cycloptic-red occular-blip ... whereas as a conceptual character, the story of YOUZA org the creature; is not as easily defined. TRE attempts to delve further into the urban lore that which is YOUZA org, with it's creator Herbie Poradireja of YOUZA Culture.

TOYSREVIL: First off - Break it down for me bro: What's the difference between YOUZA org and YOUZA Culture? (I'm slow like that lol)

HERBIE PORADIREJA: YOUZA culture is the brand I created and also the world for YOUZA while YOUZA org ( YOUZA original ) is one of the products that still in the prototype and hope to be produced soon.

TOYSREVIL: Gotcha, thanks! Who is YOUZA org? What's it's story?

HERBIE PORADIREJA: YOUZA org came from the world full of inspiration and imagination. It has a versatile character, where it able to change its form into something that influence the character itself.

It’s pretty much self explanatory if you’ve seen the illustrations of YOUZA org, where originally it kept changing from time to time, but in the other times it changed its form when it got influenced by some of already famous character, e.g. Honda from the ‘Street Fighter’ series and Obelix from the ‘Asterix’ series to name a few.


TOYSREVIL: I'm personally liking the Battlestar-Galactica CYLON-cycloptic red-eye in slits! LOL - And I'm always down with a lovable tubby creature - with Obelix-level girth! (looks in the mirror and sheds manly-tears :p). What is YOUZA org made of? And how big is he?

HERBIE PORADIREJA: YOUZA org is designed to be a vinyl toy. The composition of the design and the material are made to be smooth and clean but yet it’s still a sleek design and has dynamic vibe in it. YOUZA org stands approximately 10 inches tall (approximately 170 cm).

TOYSREVIL: How many YOUZAs are there? And what is the status of YOUZA org now?

HERBIE PORADIREJA: So far, it’s still made in one variant which is YOUZA org. YOUZA org is still a prototype for now, but hopefully it would be in production soon.


TOYSREVIL: What inspired the design and creation of YOUZA org?

HERBIE PORADIREJA: The word YOUZA was taken from a Japanese word "Youzai" which means flux or constantly changing.

I chose Japanese word as a name because Japan is one of my biggest influential in my life. The art, the culture, the style, the architecture are some of it that I admire.

As for the meaning itself, flux or constantly changing, I believe that, every aspect, influences, that came continuously, are what make our life keep on changing and growing.


HERBIE PORADIREJA: All of those were happened when I designed YOUZA org. A lot of influences came and eventually that built a whole new idea in shape and style.

YOUZA org will always transform consecutively as well as the influences that came itself along the way, giving a whole new enlightment of bright and fresh ideas.

Even though, YOUZA itself will always stands in its own identity, character, and soul that can always be seen and feel through the face and body.


TOYSREVIL: What do you hope for YOUZA org to do in the toy world / culture?

HERBIE PORADIREJA: Hopefully YOUZA org’s presence could give an alternative in toy’s designs, which are elegant, has a strong character, but in simple, sleek and clean figure, yet has a deep meaning with high aesthetic level in it.

Since however, in my opinion, it’s important to be artistic and tasteful in creating designs, because every design is an art. Even though art is a subjective matter, but hopefully YOUZA org as a figure could represent all of those. Elegant, strong, simple, meaningful, artistic and tasteful.


HERBIE PORADIREJA: Other than those things above, I also hope YOUZA org’s presence in toys world could inspire people not to be afraid to be creative, because there’s no limitation in creating an artwork (or anything, for a matter of fact). Inspiration could come from anywhere, anything and anytime, as long as you keep trying to think out of the box and be yourself.
