VinylCanvas.com

PRESS: The recently launched Vinylcanvas Gallery [www] offers vinyl toy customs from a range of acclaimed and emerging Polish street artists, illustrators, painters, graphic designers and comic book creators. Come by and put some Polish on your vinyl. (FYI: Cover-image is a customed Qee-Bear by Tomasz Płonka).

Besides customs purchasable on the website are write-ups of the artists, as well as a link to the VC-flickr - and what I felt was particularly cool, was an archive of what customs has been already sold. (Not a lot of folks keep active archives these days, IMHO) TRE had a quick chat with VC-owner "Abe" about the conception of the website. CLICK THRU to read!

TOYSREVIL: Do share with us; what was the reason you had wanted to set up VinylCanvas?

ABE: Personally I'm a huge toys fan and consider them living things. Secondly I follow art and enjoy relating to artists, so the Toy x Art connection you see on Vinylcanvas is a natural extension of my interests. I love seeing the motifs I know from drawings or paintings come to life on the 3D form. And I think that the antropomorphic form really brings the projects to life.

TOYSREVIL: What makes VinylCanvas.com special / different from other websites?

ABE: Definitely the selection of artists that already listed or are about to join. The Polish independent art scene is very deep and hopefuly Vinylcanvas will help shed more light on it.
