TK Project featuring Custom Star Wars Stormtrooper Helmets

I was given the headsup to the TK PROJECT just at the onset of SDCC (thanks Klim!), and had hoarded images in my desktop folder for the longest time, to tide the onslaught of the Con, waiting for the right opportunity to focus on the images, for a blog-post which you are reading now! But before we begin, perhaps you are wondering, Just What Is The "TK Project"?
TK-PROJECT

The TK Project [www] is a charity event for the Make A Wish Foundation, whereby the 501st Stormtooper Legion had invited their Honorary Members, Friends Of the Legion and a few 501st troopers to create one-of-a-kind 1:1 scaled Stormtrooper helmets, ala The Vader Project (curated by Sarah Jo Marks and Dov Kelemer (of DKE Toys). The results of most are simply spectacular, IMHO.

CLICK THRU for a select few of my personal favs, featuring works from some familiar names in the "art toy" genre, as well as a whole slew of awesome eye-popping custom-works, including celebs like J.J. Abrams and the team from LOST, Ray Parks ("Darth Maul") and Jeremy Bulloch ("Boba Fett" / original trilogy). For complete images of all helmets, do pop on by the TK Helmet Project-blog.

The 501st TK Helmet Project will be held in Orlando Florida at Star Wars Celebration V, with the auction on Sunday August 15th (2pm-5pm) at the Behind The Scenes Stage.
