Happy Papertyoy Monster Day on January 25th

Monsters be invading the internet on JANUARY 25th for Workman's self-proclaimed "Papertoy Monster Day"! Since when does a toy have an "official day" set aside for them? Awesome cool be Brian Castleforte's papercraft book being celebrated on this day! For all you timezone nuts, the festivities begin January 25th @ 8am EST (Singapore's on +8 GMT and nearly a day earlier, but we like our festivities drag on a tad longer lol). And if you have no idea who Castleforte is, I'd happily direct you to the Nice Paper Toy online social network he had created, plus who could ever forget NiceBunnies.com?

I asked the man himself (whom we interviewed here & here) what he thought of the event: "Monsters and papertoys have been a huge part of my day, most of the days of my life. I am thrilled to see a special day "officially" dedicated to both of these wonderful things. Anything to help spread the word that Papertoy monsters are here, and they are here to stay. Welcome to my world, kiddies. :)" ~Castleforte

PTM-CONTEST

Throughout the day, Workman will be dedicating their Facebook with monsters-galore, as well their Tumblr. As well there is a Papertoy Monster quiz to get your mitts into, and a swell free Valentine's Day Papertoy Monster to download and make yourself. But that's not all!

Courtesy of Workman Publishing, we have a single Papertoy Monster book available FREE as a prize in a TOYSREVIL Twitter Contest! All you need to do is tweet this message to be entered "RT @toysrevil I Want A @PapertoyMonster on #PapertoyMonsterDay Jan 25!" (one retweet per twitterer please thanks!). PAPERTOY-MONSTERS-BOOK-01

This paperback book is a hefty 124 pages thick, filled with all manner of Papertoy Monsters, literally! And there isn't any need to have scanner (unless you really need to) foe the papercraft as there are scored and perforated and ready to be cut out and glued into characters. Along with designs from 24 designers around the world, the book also contains 10 x Blank Templates for you to design your own Papertoy Monsters - a litera paperboy feast awaits folks who manage to snag a phonebook-thick copy in their hands, IMHO.

The stories attached to the creatures are make it perfect for reading to folks and kiddies, and propel this book beyond an arts-n-craft offering, as does the quirky character designs, of course. I also personally like that the cardstock for the printed templates are decent thick and not hard to maneuver around. As well the matt color finish of the cardstock, which makes it so much better for photography (without the glare of flashlight-fares). Congrats, Brian! Ad kudos to Workman Publishing!
