TaskOne for Contemporary Figurative Modifications @ Toy Art Gallery (April 2-launch)

Folks who have been reading my blog for a while (bless you all) know I have a particular penchant for "dioramas". I heart me my dioramas, particularly ones made out of, or feature "toys". And when TaskOne first teased his imagery for CONTEMPORARY FIGURATIVE MODIFICATIONS, I was esthetic to see the final result. And with these images, I am sated (of course being at Toy Art Gallery physically "live" would be perfect, but that remains a pipe-dream for now…). With collaborations with Leecifer, Jay222 and Nerviswr3k, TaskOne had chosen to replicate his earlier photoshopped imagery into actual toy-scenes! Gush much?

Not content with mixing it up with other artists, TaskOner had also replicated a videogame of his own choice, featuring James Jarvis' King Ken as "Donkey Kong". As well the show debuted his Qee-Thedral custom of a 20" behemoth, which opens up down the middle! I can imagine the detailing for this piece along can be amazing.

Enough yakking, now witness the imagery (all posted on his Facebook and photographed by Andrew Susich) and the evolution of the toy-scene for yourselves. Shown above is a single snap of TaskOner putting the final touches on his work, at TAG (snap via Luke Chueh). No doubt there will be oddness of event images on the www eventually (as the launch is happening right now in the States lol), but nevertheless, this is my humble post featuring what I enjoy anyways ~ Hope you enjoy them too :)

They take the art of toy customization to a whole new level, creating mixed media works of art. Vinyl, paint, resin and canvas merge to create a new toy art experience.
