Captain Power Makes A Return in 2012?

"Captain-Who?" you may ask? Peter K. of Twitchfilm schools you youn'guns about the lore of "Captain Power And The Soldiers Of Future": "Captain Power is probably most famously remembered as that 80s television series where you could buy a toy light-gun, shoot at the screen during episodes and both receive points and register hits, with the gun going so far as to eject an action-figure when you took too many shots. But the series was far more then an excuse to just sell toys. Created by Gary Goddard in 1987, the show conjured up weekly doses of stellar post-apocalyptic mayhem, reminiscent of the future war sequences of the Terminator films, but stretched over twenty-two episodes, complete with state of the art special effects."

CAPTAIN-POWER

Aptly described and in now way need I re-redit this to pretend to be my own. Be it a rumor of an upcoming remake, or just the release of the tv-season in a boxed set, it doesn't matter as much to me as it had given me a slice of memory down thy childhood, which had been embraced near-wholly by Bahasa-dubbed Ultraman and various anime and American cartoons (on TV3, with prayer-breaks in between afternoon/evening matinees). Read more of what Peter has to say on Teitch, as well check out the Facebook fan-page for behind the scenes snaps of the 1987 series (Official Cast Photo posted above-right) and as well their "official" website at http://www.captainpowerreturns.net/ - where perhaps further clues to where all this may lead to eventually. Hey, I'm hella excited at this prospect, aren't you?

"Toys" for the new millennium? Undoubtably 12" figures! But we all know if ever toys were to happen, they would be a revisit to the action figures and the space-ship guns!
