Truth be told, I'm not too huge on "time-management". Believe me, I've tried a plenty these decades, but alas, I tend to delve into a project and/or task, and burrow thru stubbornly regardless of time and consequence, most times to the detriment of myself and mine. The results however, always seem to be worth the effort. The effect? Well, let's just say I might have been reckless with my own life all these years.
But since my Stroke last year in near-end October, everything changed. My life changed expediently and ended centered around "me" and my health, above everything and anything else. "Time management" meant a new lifestyle of decade-old habits needing to be changed.
I now try to stick to certain blogging times (although I do tend to be stubborn with my tasks and geekouts now and then ;p), with ample time set aside for afternoon naps (a NEED in my life now) and early to bed at night - 11:30pm now has become an exception, when before my work begun around 9pm and thru to the next morning when the school anthem can be heard thru the loudspeakers, opposite my bedroom - and attempting to stick to Singapore-time now, with twice-a-week rehab sessions and thrice-a-week acupuncture sessions to fill up my mornings, I am left with an opportunity to blog in the afternoon (just before I nap, of course).
Which frankly does not leave much time to do anything else, nor the energy to. I long to go watch an afternoon movie matinee like I used to, but I am hesitant to do so without a chaperone (and my vision is still not on the up-n-up). I long to visit toyshops in Singapore, to see what's up around the island I live on, and to perhaps even bump into friends. Activities of the "past" which I'll revists sometime soon in the future (*fingers-crossed*).
But I do not complain as much, for reliving a live-of-hermitdom also allows certain respites and boons, like saving cash (stepping out of the house means spending money these days, and these days i am paying for my own transept and recovery sessions, So I hella need to save) and the ability to geekout pignut on DVDs (my weakness in lieu of toys and comicbooks LOL). At the very least I managed to finally catch Scott Pilgrim vs The World today! (Didn't change my life as I had hoped it would, but it was enjoyable, I reckon). So yes, I am not complaining … much … am just grateful I have the ability still to type alla these, (and that's more than anyone will ever imagine) and thankful that YOU are reading it :)
Cheers
