One of the fun aspects of birthdays (for me anyways, since I started blogging) was seeing what folks have done for me - this year being the above custom-paint from John Eugene Atendido Avila, and the below image from JAOC! My surprise was surpassed by my joy at seeing these creations - not because they are egotistically satisfying (not in the least bit, I insist) - but because they allow the person in "expression" and "creation" = in this case a wonderful 2D-image and a 3D-custom figurine. That to me is why I continue to do what I do now - and that is alright by me :)
