It's easy to get excited about things in your very own backyard, and the upcoming 2012 Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo (C2E2, for short) is as good as it gets for the crew here at Chicago-based Shawnimals. We have a variety of things planned for the show, including exclusives, special pricing on some items, and the triumphant return of Pocket Stache! Look for Shawnimals creator Shawn "Shawnimal" Smith at the booth on Friday and Sunday, too!' Pork & Bean C2E2 show exclusive: 'Our popular mini dumpling are taking on the form of the famous "Bean" made famous by internationally-renowned artist Anish Kapoor. The actual name of the real piece is Cloud Gate, but Pork Gate sounded weird, so we opted for Pork & Bean. The edition features a random-packed silvery "chrome" dumpling, either one with eyes (Pork) or one without (Bean). Limited to 50 pieces, $12.99 each, packed in a handy take-out container.'
Pocket Staches are back! 'You've been waiting for a long time on this one, and we're glad to have em back. This time around, our little Pocket Stache pals are handmade, a just a smidgen bigger than before. But they're still small and adorable, and are somehow packed with some serious machismo. Part of Shawnimals handmade Pocket Plush line, $12 each.'
Our mystery Moustachio is Dreamstachio… 'We are also releasing a special Shawnimals edition of Moustachio for the show. A bit more compact than our usual 'stachio offering (like Grampy Stache if you remember that one), but still a formidable stache. Bright, furry orange, with a magnificent white 'stache. Wow...
