Star Wars And You

Since it first moved across the silver screen in the late 70s, and across generations, hearts and minds of converts, STAR WARS has unmistakably since been acknowledged as one of the key elements of Pop Culture, in modern times. The lore of Star Wars has spanned 6 movies, animated TV series, and a bountiful catalog of memories through the decades.

One thing I do like about Star Wars, is that it could be enjoyed by anyone, anywhere. And in this particular instance, Star Wars Day Jakarta 2013 - happening May 18th to 19th, a couple of weeks after the May 4th worldwide celebrations, no doubt, but it has proven that "time" is of no particular deterrent, to folks wanting to enjoy and to celebrate all-things Star Wars!

What is it about the lore, which appeals and attracts people of all generations? I asked folks on my Facebook(s) a couple of questions:

"What Does Star Wars Mean To You?"
"I believe Star Wars is a story about how people try to forge their own destiny but realize, only too late, that they cannot outrun destiny because of their associations and their ties to family." ~B.V. Marin.

"Redemption." ~Hwee Leong Chew.
