Introducing Sofubis from Science Patrol
Cory M. Privitera shares with us a trio of new sofubi figures he has coming out in August (product details TBD) - all of whom are made in Japan (Koenji-kita, Suginami-ku specifically) and are all made of Japanese soft vinyl and are produced & painted by Science Patrol (Store / Twitter @science_patrols / Instagram @science_patrols)!
"The story for these figures is that they are benevolent, albeit lonely, artifacts that have hung around unsold in a small recycle shop in Koenji for decades. At night they roam the city's various alleys and shotengai in hopes of befriending people, but just end up terrifying everyone they meet." -added Cory.
(Image-left) "The purple hat looking guy is Avalon, this is his standard colourway." (Above-right) "The red lantern looking guy is Monochochin. This is his red "Izakaya" colourway. Standard colourway is currently being decided." (Below-right) "Lastly, the gold coin looking guy is Obakekoban. This is the solid gold colourway which is one of two standard colourways (the second being solid silver)." -shared Cory.Looks like a pretty fun bunch of "yokai" characters to be had! Am quite liking "Obakekoban" - love the idea of "money" looking back at me hahahaha ~ Stay tuned for further updates, folks!
(Cheers for the headsup, Cory!)
