Painted Oceans: Painting The Red Sands Sea Forts

THE MISSION: "To pull off the most ambitious and adventurous mural project in history. Artist Tristan Eaton has been given approval to paint the historic Maunsell Sea Forts with a team of world renowned street artists. The entire project will be recorded on multiple platforms, and will be immortalized in a full-length documentary film." (
The artist roll-call features a splendid array of graffiti legends, including Shepard Fairey, Futura 2000, How & Nosm, The London Police, and Tristan Eaton himself. Gives a solid context to the phrase; "Go Big or Go Home!", innit?

The project is currently on Kickstarter with a pledge goal of US$200,000, due March 2nd, 2016. Check out the video below, and as well I've added a TV news-report which might help explain things a tad clearer (I particularly liked it when it's now mentioned to be "public art") ~ Enjoy!

Can the Red Sands Sea Forts be given a new lease on life? We hope so! Check out the clip from our recent feature on the BBC. Tristan Eaton Shepard Fairey

He has not been given Permission from the Red Sands Trust, as it stands permission would only be given after Public consultation, this currently hasn't happened, quote from trust "Please be assured that nothing will happen with the murals unless there is a substantial offer to stabilise the structures, a conservation plan and significant input to the restoration program. This would be followed by a Public Consultation in order to reach a decision. So far there has been no such offer, therefore as it stands, it’s a no go"
