"Train To Busan" ("Busanhaeng") Korean zombie-film looks rivetingly awesome!
With an innocuous title of "Train To Busan", this feature film could simply be a romcom about a roadtrip romance, but instead, this is Korea's first zombie attack film, in the vein of World War Z!
"A mysterious viral outbreak pushes Korea into a state of emergency!
As an unidentified virus sweeps the country, Korean government declares martial law. Those on an express train to Busan, a city that has successfully fended off the viral outbreak, must fight for their own survival…
453 km from Seoul to Busan.
The struggle to survive by those who have others to protect!
Get on board to stay alive!"
The trailer looks pretty excitable bordering on "riveting awesome", and who doesn't like over-flowing hordes of rabid flesh-eaters crashing towards your face? MUAHAHAHAHAHA
Train to Busan (Korean title; "Busanhaeng") is scheduled to debut in theaters July 20th, 2016 (Republic of Korea). Official website is traintobusan.co.kr, while stills featured below are from the film's IMDb.
Directed by Yeon Sang-ho (director for "The King of Pigs" and "The Fake" animation films) who also wrote the screenplay, this movie is set one day after his's animation film "Seoul Station" (source) - which debuts August 2016, trailer featured at bottom of this post.
*Since my first post on #popcornX back in June, the film has arrived in Singapore’s shores (or “arrived at the station”, as it were :p), and talks of remakes are happening now in Hollywood and France!
