Band of Doodlers @ #STGCC2016
Local collective Band of Doodlers were on double duty at the recent STGCC2016 (Sept 10-11, 2016) - with doing a “live” wall mural on the event grounds, and as well helming their own booth in Artist Alley.
The mural was completed in the span of two days, and numerous folks took the opportunity to have their photo taken with the spectacle looming large behind them! I would’ve done the same if I’d gotten folks to take a pic for me anyways hahaha
(Above: Day One / Below: Day Two)
BOD had two wall murals on show, with the above doodled on the spot, and another pre-doodled and available for silent auction (images below), with the proceeds to benefit Make-A-Wish Foundation® Singapore!
"Happening in the lead-up to and over the two days at STGCC, fans will be able to bid for the #TeamCapFest Sketch Wall that was completed by the Band of Doodlers during the Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War Festival held in April 2016.
The wall mural is made up of four canvas panels and each panel will be auctioned off individually. The starting bid for each panel is SGD 250 and each panel will be awarded to its respective highest bidder via an online silent auction.
Online bidding shall commence on Tuesday, 30 August 2016, 0900hrs, and close on Sunday, 11 Sep 2016, 1500hrs. Proceeds raised from the sale of the panels will go towards granting the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions." (singaporetgcc.com)
I’d nearly walked out of the event hall on the first day, knackered beyond belief, if not for being introduced to the BOD booth by @kathkucing, where I promptly badgered autographs from some folks present, on the Star Wars-themed ”Gang War” Poker Art Cards set (which I have been gagging for since their exhibition), along with a couple of postcard packs from their All X-Men Must Die exhibition.
The only other way to score these goodies are at the exhibitions themselves, or in the case of the cards, via their online shop, so this was a real treat for me personally! On show at their table as well included BOD pins and their BOD Skull mascot figure, made with Mighty Jaxx - launched during their Monster Mash exhibition last year.
Here are a few more snaps to share, and as well free to CLICK HERE for continued coverage of Band of Doodlers on the TOYSREVIL blog. As well you could pop on down to their Seven Deadly SINs gallery show at Capitol Piazza (Basement 2) - exhibiting now thru September 25th. I am certainly a BOD-fan, and you should be too :)
