Introducing WATARI KAPPA by Javier Jiménez
Meet “WATARI KAPPA”! A new character and toy designed by Javier Jiménez. She will be available first at the Ghetto Hyakkiyagyo show in 玩老玩具 playtoysforever this weekend. Availability after this event will be announced later this week, but it will be soon!
WHO-IS: ”Watari Kappa is a young kappa girl who lived in a small pond. Life at the pond was so boring for her. She really wanted to see the world, but her friends and family said she should stay at the pond, as the world was a full of dangers.
One day, a mysterious traveler stopped by the pond and told her stories about all the beautiful places he had seen...and this gave her the courage to leave the pond and start her own trip! Now she's travelling all around the world, discovering many wonderful places and of course, facing danger and adventure!"
This reveal certainly came as a surprise! And a delightful one it is, featuring a character design I might not have immediately associated with Javier’s style (I always love to see “range” in a creator’s portfolio), which makes it even moreso exciting, IMHO!
“Watari Kappa” was created and designed by Javier Jiménez, sculpted by Victor Marin and produced by Andy Kuok. Neither price nor quantity revealed at this time.
