M1A2 Light Walker by Machination Studio on Kickstarter Now

The Kickstarter campaign for the M1A2 Light Walker - Squad Leader version has since launched and pledge goal met, in the early days of this 15-Day campaign, currently awaiting Stretch Goals to be unlocked!

Folks on this blog might remember Machination Studio's Schnauzer Armoured Walker Kickstarter (which unfortunately was not successful), but he's back with a brand new build!

"The Codename Colossus M1A2 Light Walker – Squad Leader version is a 1/35 scale model kit with over 60 polyurethane resin cast and 3D printed parts, lights and a motor powered by 2x AAA batteries, and a multi-part character figure, Sergeant Reynolds.

The M1A2 Light Walker – Squad Leader version is the first model in the Codename Colossus world from the U.S. Marine Expedition Force. It is a light scout walker designed and built in secret facilities in the Nevada desert.

The M1 Light Walkers first saw action in the 2nd Mexican War and Sergeant Reynolds of the 51st Steel Cavalry Regiment is a decorated veteran for being the first cavalry troop to enter Mexico City, ending the war. Both the 51st Steel Cavalry and their Light Walkers are affectionately referred to as “Bug Zappers” for their Westinghouse lightning cannons that are designed to clear trenches and barbed wire.

The kit requires assembly and painting. Modelling skills and tools are needed. No soldering required and 2x AAA batteries not included. When assembled, this kit can stand over 5.5″ tall and wide."

Price per kit is US$120 SGD (approx. $88 USD), with a planned delivery of June 2018. The designs are not limited to 100 kits, each subsequent 100 kits will be delivered at a later date.

This Kickstarter campaign will end April 4th, 2018. And if you've been following Michael on his Instagram @machinationstudio, you'd seem numerous work-in-progress snaps leading to this K.S., and is a enriching aspect of this hobby, IMHO.
