YO'HOOD 2018 in Shanghai (Aug 31-Sept 2)
Asian Street culture, fashion, art and collectible toys collide in this year's YO'HOOD event in Shanghai (www.yohood.cn) held in the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center, happening August 31st thru September 2nd, and specific for this particular blog, featured here are quick previews of goodness to come from a list of over 50 invited artists and their works from around the world!
This year's theme is "Renew The Rules", and the hype and (youth) star power is impressive - reminds me of "ComplexCon" - with insane awesomeness, along with insane "art gallery" prices too (I am too poor to baulk or pout my purse-strings, no worries :p) ... "China" is where the pop culture scene is exploding now, and organisers are willing to go the extra mile for hype (IMHO), and the fans, collectors and artists benefit, I reckon! There is plenty of $$$ to be made from subculture-POP this generation, for sure!
...I'll just gawk (and blog about it) on the sidelines, thanks - So Exciting, tho!
Above: Revealed is the "Secret" version of Ron English's MELTY RONNNIE RABBBIT vinyl collectible from Made by Monsters, with only 100pcs made for APPortfolio in this “Special Glitter version”. Standing 27.5cm tall, this particular edition is only available as part of a set of three figures, priced at US$990.00 on apportfolio.shoplineapp.com! The other two regular editions/colorways are each priced at US$330 per.
I was quite gagging for this piece too, tbh ... but not "330-gag", fhanks -.-"
