TOYSREVIL Unboxes & Reviews FOREST FAIRIES by Pucky x POP MART
I had not been timely enough to feature Pucky's second blind-box figure series made with POP MART (first release was Pool Babies), but am able to "catch-up" today, with being able to snag a couple of boxes here in SG (Action City, Bugis - that's all they had in-store) for PUCKY's FOREST FAIRIES - each priced at SG$14.90, and offering up a time-lapsed unboxing and a few snaps for the unicorn-cuties I pulled!
Adorable character designs from Hong Kong based artist Pucky (Facebook / Instagram), and as well her splendid color palette has been consistently one of the highlights of her art, IMHO.
For this particular figure (as well two other Pool Babies I had unboxed) all maintain a certain weightage afforded because of their PVC material-make, which to be utterly honest, felt more steady and "substantial" as a collectible, and as well possess a very decent standing stability (which is quite important to myself, as I seriously detest shelf-divers, which a lot of times sacrifices stability for form aesthetics, but that's just me :p).
A single point of articulation (at the neck) which certainly UPS the cute-factor quite a bit, besides the removable star-wand for this character. The hands/arms splayed out like that reminds me tons of Sonny Angel figurines tho, but I'd imagine that is intentional.
But is this "cuteness" worth $15? Admittedly, I recognise my mental state of "toys procurement" still dwells within a decade ago, and an average of $12 is a bit of change for me ... but truth be told, in THIS day and ge, when even a standard dacha-pull is priced at $6, and average blind-boxes clock in at $10-12, "SG$15" is pretty darn decent a price for the sheer toy-joy - at the very least I achieved, m which I gushed while opening the figures LOL
I'm definitely going to recommend this series - for the charm and magical imagination that could afford folks who revel in such fantasies win this genre (see studio images featured here for who else is in the series), they/you will not be disappointed, IMHO. And with the year end festive season coming, this'll make great gifting ideas for folks collecting the cute-stuff, IMHO. Send your doubles my way, no worries! I'll blow you some cyber-kisses! XOXOXOX
