VINTAGE GOLD by Lou Pimentel for DKE Toys at New York Comic Con 2018

New York-based artist Lou Pimentel (www.loupimentel.com / Instagram: @loupimentel) hand painted 20 gorgeous different cardbacks for New York Comic Con 2018 (Oct 4-7), and paired them with authentic vintage action figures, which is a total about-face from all their appropriated bootlegged collectbiles for NYCC thus far! And NO, the figures themselves are not the "star" of the show!

Vintage Gold 1-20 This was such a fun project. Running on very little sleep, but so worth it. Big thank you to @dketoys and @sarahjomarks for the opportunity, so looking forward to painting more. The series is titled "Vintage Gold", with each original watercolor on a 6x9 inch backer card and has a vintage toy mounted on the front. Priced at only US$165 each, you can head pop over to the DKE Toys Booth #575 to choose your favourite(s) ... My top four picks'll be MORK (from "Mork & Mindy"), CYLON ("Battlestar Galactica"), MUFFET and TWIKI ("Buck Rogers in the 25th Century")!

Ok folks we have reached the end of the finish line, Vintage Gold #20 of 20 featuring the most badass weapons dealer in history, DESTRO! He was always one of my favorites. Anyways, I hope you enjoyed the series. I know I had a blast creating all these paintings. Destro will be available at @dketoys booth 575 at @newyorkcomiccon next weekend. I’ll be walking around Saturday, and hope to see some of you there. Cheers.
