Toy Art Philippines 2019 (#TAPh2019) @ Secret Fresh (Dec 14-15)
Introducing the 2019 Edition of "Toy Art Philippines" / TAPh2019, which is scheduled to happen the coming weekend of December 14th and 15th (from 11AM to 8PM) at Secret Fresh, Ronac Art Center, Ortigas.
I've featured a glimpse of 2018's Inaugural Edition, and this year is the second time Toy Art Philippines is bringing together Filipino art toys and designers in one event so artists and collectors will get-together once a year. Featuring a group of volunteer artists, this is indeed a "independent"-led endeavour!
One of the highlights of the event, is a Artist Talk with creators and producers on December 15th – with Jan Calleja, Arman Kendrick, Epjey Pacheco, and Brian Dee. Paul Budnitz and Huck Gee of Superplastic will participate via video interview from the United States.
In addition to vendors/exhibitors, folks can also look forward to a "Custom Dunny Show", which will feature 25 Filipino artists utilizing the Kidrobot Dunny figure - some of whom are featured here today! Additional images via Art Toys and Designer Vinyl Enthusiasts Philippines Facebook group!

Featured here today is "DUMON": A custom Dunny by Lei Melendres, completed for the CUSTOM DUNNY SHOW, as part of Toy Art Philippines 2019. This 1-of-1 piece will be available at the event priced at US$313. "Eversince I first saw a blank Dunny, I've always thought the back of its head kinda looks like a blank face with horns so when I got invited to be part of the event, I instantly knew what to do.
The name Dumon is basically DUnny + deMON and the Dunny here is anxious, scared, and paranoid while the demon, well, I'll let you be the judge of that. So two completely opposite characteristics in one." - shared Lei Melendres (Instagram / Facebook)
"The design on the box was hand-drawn too! Originally planned on creating a new printed box but since I was aiming for a comic-style look I decided to draw on the box so it would look more like a single piece if everything was customized by hand.
