"May is mental health month. With the pandemic creating a world-wide lockdown, focusing now on mental health is imperative. Many individuals living with mental illness do not feel like they can comfortably discuss their condition with their friends & family.
According to the national alliance on mental illness, aka NAMI, Approximately 18% of US adults & 13% of children have mental illness within any given year. The sad thing is the statistics will continue to grow, after lockdown restrictions are lifted."
"For the past few months, so many people have been home without support systems to help them process their feelings of anxiety, fear, uncertainty, depression, & some would even say grief; because they're mourning the pandemic's impacts & wishing of simpler times."
"For this giveaway, I am asking you to treat it slightly different by thinking of someone you haven't checked in on, & reaching out to them. Try to think of someone that might need someone to talk to. Anything to let them know they are important & you are there for them.
Obviously, the step above will count as brownie points & not actual entries. The following WILL count towards entries for the giveaway."
Click on the above embed to find out how you can participate in the Instagram giveaway, including how to score yourselves "bonus entries"! Note that entries must be in by 5:55P.M. PST on 6/1/2020. Private accounts will need to DM the screenshots of reposts. Good Luck!
"This art piece serves as a reminder of the global impacts experience through this pandemic. CoVid Kitty is wearing her PPE, and if the mask isn't clear to stay away, her hoodie says it all. The Dia De Los Muertos facepaint is to honor the lives lost during this trying & tragic time. The tiger print is a nod to the docuseries that went viral when lockdowns began. Her bow is bright and colorful to represent Priscilla; Always looking for the positives in life."
