HOUNDSDRAGONS by TOUMA - Celebrating 20 Years of TOUMA!
The year 2021 will be the 20th anniversary of TOUMA, and the Japanese character designer has designed HOUNDSDRAGONS to commemorate the event, with the design "that follows the design lines of Knucklebear", and turned it into a soft vinyl figure!
"This is a TOUMA CLASSIC STYLE that goes back to its roots. The dragon's name is "HOUNDDRAGONS" because it has a dog-like appearance. The dragon's tail is split in two, and in Japan, the more tails the dragon has, the more spiritual power it has. This species is believed to be in a state of awakening to spiritual power. The name of the individual is often compared to a gemstone because of the color and glow of its skin."
Showcased here are two colorways of the 4.75" / 12cm figure: in SPINEL (Purple) and OPAL (off-white), where they will debut at the coming DesignerCon 2020 (VIPs Nov 13 / Nov 14-15) - available specifically via @3dretro (Code: ARTTOY).

"Big fists with enlarged ends, a fusion of curves and sharp edges, clenched jagged teeth, small legs, etc. And the S-curve of the body, which was not present in Knuckle Bear. This dragon is designed with the flow of its shape, strength, and presence in mind. The tail has a two-pronged tail, which can be seen in yokai and other monsters, to give it a Japanese feel.
The face of the dragon was also designed with dog-like elements. In the beginning, the ears were drooping, which gave the impression of a dog, but The shape of the ears is difficult to produce for the Japanese soft vinyl, so we have made the ears sharp and elongated to the top. Because of that, she looks a little less like a dog. I think the character is reminiscent of Knucklebear."
