SpongeBoy Trashpants by Dale Lam (of Quit Quitting) for June 1st Launch on Kickstarter!
Dale Lam of fledgling new toy brand Quit Quitting (quitquitting.store / IG @quitquitting.store) shares with us toynews of his first toy project" "SpongeBoy Trashpants"!
"SpongeBoy is inspired by the unfortunate marine life that’s drowning in an ocean of plastic. It may look like the typical anatomy toy, but it shows the commonly ingested ocean trash - fishnets, plastic bags, and straws, etc. Unaware of the danger he’s facing, our carefree SpongeBoy continues to contribute to the pollution..."
Besides being a fun entry in the designer toy scene (with a oft utilised pop culture reference), "SpongeBoy Trashpants" is also meant to bring awareness to ocean pollution, with this 6-inch toy scheduled to launch via Kickstarter on 1 June 2021, running for a month. "Living in an island city, I’ve always been in love with the ocean and wanted to do something about the ocean’s pollution. In recent years, I’ve discovered a love for vinyl toys and how they can be used to convey messages, beyond being just an art piece. Bridging the two ideas together was how it all started.".
