THE DRAGON AND THE BURGLAR Automata by Machination Studio
Michael Sng of Machination Studio has revealed and announced his latest creation, which somewhat veers away from his scaled diesel punk resin kits into something brand new, based on a olden technique: "Automata"!
"Presenting The Dragon and the Burglar, the first of the automatas I'm designing and building and making available in an edition of 25. I want to rekindle the flame of my childhood filled with the fantastical imagery conjured up by book cover art, role playing game manuals and animation. I'd like to share this journey with you." shared @michael_sng_machinations.
Sized 51cm/20" by 42cm/16.5" by 32cm/12", "The Dragon and the Burglar" Automata will be made in an edition of 25 and made to order. Each will be completely built and painted by Michael himself. It should take at least 3 weeks to put one together.
Prices start at US$3,500 and each subsequent piece will be 2% higher than the previous one. There is a US$1,000 deposit for material costs. Currently listed and available to order here on machinationstudio.com.
WHAT IS AUTOMATON (Plural Noun: "AUTOMATA"):
- A moving mechanical device made in imitation of a human being.
- A machine which performs a range of functions according to a predetermined set of coded instructions.
