KAIJU NO.8 Collectibles at Singapore Comic-Con 2024
Ya know, a couple of months back I would've been uber-excited to see action figures and collectibles from the KAIJU No.8 anime = an anime I enjoyed thoroughly! But then DAN DA DAN happened, and I am currently on a high with them! But to be fair, if "topicality" was an issue, I would not still be looking at collectibles from CHAINSAW MAN, no?
Be that as it may, there were plenty of KAIJU NO.8 to be spotted at Singapore Comic-Con, and even Chainsaw Man still too! Here are some snaps to share, cheers.
The above-featured roll out from Tamashii Nations/Bandai was massively impressive, to say the least!
The chibi-versions (showcased below) from Sunrise Pop were nigh tempting too - at least for me - reminding me of Good Smile Co's "Nenoroids" (which I used to have such a weakness for) ... it's one thing when "hyper-realism" brings to 3-dimensional life from screen to your hands, and another when the character is reinterpreted into another form, which most times I can appreciate the reimagined form from, but that's just me :)
I this particular instance, I really wouldn't mind having a line-up of gacha(sized) figurines, as the series/line-up demands them all to be together, and more likely affordable (on my end LOL) .... Imagine them placed in a dioramic setting, back-to-back against invading alien kaiju...! Yes, I can dream...
Here's a quick glance at the KOKORO (platform) figure from KISSUI (@kissui.xyz) adopting characters from KAIJU NO.8 and CHAINSAW MAN! More of them in a separate stand-alone blog-feature (in time), cheers!
I try not to "look back" that much, but all these reminded me of the days when ATTACK ON TITAN hit, and I was disappointed scouring the local anime festival for affordable collectibles - even if gacha figurines - but being disappointed and remain undated, until much much later when production apparently caught up to the "demand" ... yes, I know how production goes, but... I am just after all a demanding and greedy consumer who wants his toys "now, Now, NOW!" MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAA
