TOYS for TOYSREVIL Pop-Up (Feb 7-9, 2025)
The "TOYSREVIL POP-UP" thus far had been the three main tenements of "Toys, Tapes & Trading Cards" since it's inception late last year.... As for my most recent Feb 7-9 Edition, I've covered (MUSIC) TAPES and TRADING CARDS, and for this particular blog-feature, I am showcasing the "TOYS" - in both videos and images, both pre-event and during the event days' IG-promotions for, cheers.

Honestly, I am enjoying the "chaos" of my display, reminding me of "Thieve's Market" of old, and corner/mama shops of my childhood, somewhat like the Warung-styled set-ups, which I understand might "overwhelm" folks, or perhaps even "visual overload", but that's the concept of "browsing for treasures", well, at least it is for me myself, self-indulgently speaking... What do YOU think tho? LIKE IT? DISLIKE IT? Do let me know on my socials, thanks!

As well I'd added a number of blister-carded figures on Day 3, after a number was sold [previoously, and as well offer up a semblance of "variety" ... and as well attempted a "VVVALENTINE$ SALE" with discounted prices on select items too! Prices no longer valid the, cheers :p

These were for "VVVALENTINE$" Sale with discounts off selected designer toys (Offers since expired tho). These were promoted on my Insta https://t.co/yPCae3dxT4, cheers :) pic.twitter.com/dCPhSts78V
"Pop Mart" has certainly captured folks' attention, and in m any instance, as have Kenny Wong's "Molly" being recognisable, but everyone else remained a "curiosity" but not a purchasable choice, but for blind boxed gachas, actually!

Ultimately, the flea market is not exactly a destination for "designer / art toys", catering more instead to mass pop culture and selective memories, including Hello Kitty, Guedatama and even The Simpsons. Will "consistently" showcasing "art toys" at my pop-up lead to subsequent / eventual recognition and acceptance? Not that the expense of making a loss for table rental, I reckon. "Persistence" has a price to be paid.. and all it took was 20 years for me to blog about "art toys" too LOL
Different toys for different markets, of course...
Absolutely ZERO interest(s) in these tho ~ LOL
