week-old news i dunno why i even bother to post but still i do

:: MOVIES ::
i marveled at how a trailer like Steven Soderbergh's Bubble, would be able to do the trick of promoting the film? - becoz tis essentially a series of production stills in a montage, set to Danny-Elfman-ish carnival maniac-happy-music and nary shows any footage of the film .... but i reckon it's worked enuff for me to be interested anyways *hah* (not least the synopsis, which seemed hohum anyways) ... but evidently, Soderbergh has other matters to worry about ...

Bollywood has remade ChanWook Park's OldBoy and named it Zinda. Kaijushakedown's review of it gives me a shudder down to me toes, altho i doubt we would be able to view this flick in singapore anyways ... and maybe that's a good thing? (but then again, they loved Chen Kaige's The Promise, so i won't hold me breath, innit? *HAH*)

a truckload of behind-the-scenes images from the upcoming Bryan Singer-helmed; Superman Returns, to add to your collection!

one of me fav japanese directors; Shinya Tsukamoto has a new film coming out, titled; HAZE! apparently this is his first full-digital-feature (a short one at that, going at 49mins only) and after his masterwork (IMHO) that was Vital in '04, i seriously cannot wait for this one to happen and soon!

the tag: "A man wakes up to find himself locked in a tiny, cramped concrete room, in which he can barely move. Why is he there and where did he come from? All we know is that he has a terrible stomach injury and is slowly bleeding to death. He begins to explore the narrow confines of his prison and crawls around the maze-like room, only to see a horrible vision of hell waiting for him at each end of the room."

:: ANIME ::
new Fist Of The Northstar Anime Trailer available online here [via twitchfilms] - remembering the onslaught of violence in a japanese comic, when i first ever laid my eyes on it eons ago ... *yum* - which by nowsadays' standards would seem tame lor :p

:: TOYS ::

a new Muttpop vinyl figure is being developed now, and ya can see the process of El Panda down @ Vinyl Pulse (ala their Tequila-feature) ... personally, somehow the commie panda-masked figure is quite enduring somewhat (IMHO) and the belly reminds me of the laughing buddha, which is not a bad thing really! and the current unfinished grey of the sculpt reminds me loads of statued terracotta warriors! *nice*

:: TOYS / WWW ::
with the sudden closing down of the Ninyoushi board, a new forum board focusing on Eastern/Asian toys and creators = has sprung up: CrazyToyz [found via toydigger forums] - and is the brainchild and effort of a former Ning-member - 0709, who himself has an exceptional blog about toys! envy knows no bounds with this discovery with reviews galore and detailed pics that pepper the blog of a fellow toy-collector (altho i am hardly in his league lah :p) ... currently focusing primarily on Michael Lau, Brothersfree and Arnie Kim and a lil corner for everyone else = looks promising, and like any and all forumboards, need the "people" to make it alive - so go now to have a look-see and ya just might find me in there ... someday soon ... anyways, anywhere where ya can "talk toys" is always good lah! *heh*

(*Disclaimer: the featured forum-logo is of my own design and not the actual-logo, but ya wanna use it, tis cool! :p)

toy/model houses never looked so detailed with Bilbo Baggin's abode [via boingboing], painstakingly and lovingly crafted ... and ya know ima sucker for model/scaled houses, innit? ... wondering if anyone has attempted (or already have) a 1/6th-scaled version? *rubbing grubby hands with evil glee* :p

:: COMICS ::
Ed Brubaker (Captain America) is slated to take over Brian Michael Bendis on Daredevil! [read more abvout it via newsarama] with the seeming adventures of Matt Murdock, outted as Daredevil; in prison. (reminds me too much of Constantine in jail, mind) ... and Michael Lark replaces Alex Maleev as artist, who was one of the initial reason why i started back on Daredevil way back when ... gonna be missing his art quite so tho ... :p

:: STUFF ::
urban sticker culture meets pop culture, when The Heavy Ammunition Project cooks up a delish ghoulash of hiphop with the tune of the Imperial Stormtrooper March. [via boingboing] = can i have more, please?
