the fickilians' holybot mimobot-design

and so the first round of Mimoco's Design-A-Vimobot contest has come to an end recently and three Winners were chosen from 10 finalists, namely: Yakuza Vimo by eetteekers, Zombie Tiki God by heyimlindsayp and Holybot by the fickilians (congrats to all!)

i had a wee chat with the Fickilians about Holybot and this is what they had to share: /// CLICK HERE TO READ

TOYSREVIL:   who is HOLYBOT?

FICKILIANS: from his name you can sense the holiness of him. one kind of a fickilian, known in making all wishes come true to all his fickilian privileges.

TRE: how does his holi-botness feel about coming out top-dog ... eerrr ... top-bot of the design competition?

FICKILIANS: well, totally free and happy that he has been given the chance to meet more people other than the fickilians and make their wishes come true. thanks to us and to mimoco.

TRE: how does holybot plan to celebrate his victory?

FICKILIANS: he will allow his fans to send him gifts, he is known in giving things not taking. so it's a pleasure for people to send  his highness some gifts. PLUS, he will be spreading cloth pins to all people with these characteristics : sweet, sick, believes in him, poor, sad, broken hearted, good wives.

TRE: what was the genesis of holybot's design?

FICKILIANS: what inspired us to create the holybot is our project (the fickilians) mainly got his characteristics from the characters.

TRE: how long did it take for holybot to be completed?

FICKILIANS: well we cant really remember exactly but I think it took us a week to decide upon our sketches what to choose. give it another week for color studying, and finally took 3 days of painting.


TRE: could you share with us; who are 'the fickilians'?

The Fickilias is a group consists of  both Ibrahem and Noor, we both managed to start doing a comic book that goes around the story of a cute little creatures, called the fickilians, that have been cursed by their god Fickilius. "The fickilians" is the name that the comic book will carry, and its going to be totally illustrated using victor art, that we believe well give the fans of this kind of art more space to look at, fabulous landscapes and a lot of action, more than still frames and posters for single characters.

Until this moment we were busy publishing our website www.thefickilians.com. That contains more information about us and the project it self, pictures and sketches as well.

Our first issue is on the way J takes a lot of time and effort but we are trying our best to give something charming and unique at the same time ;)
