Ted Stilson's Moody Idols opened on Nov 9th [blogged] @ the Helen Christou Gallery of University of Lethbridge Gallery (and runs til Jan 11th 2008)
The Moody Idols show not only showcases 53 custom Moody’s (from a diverse group of 47 artists representing 10 countries), it is also designed to educate students, faculty and the public about designer vinyl toy culture and the ‘low brow’ art movement. Over 100 toys, plush, original art, prints and publications, ranging from 3” Dunny’s to a pencil sketch by Scott Musgrove, have been included as part of the show. shown above are a trio of customs from Marka27, Playskewl and Bunka; included in the showcase. ABOUT PURCHASING CUSTOM MOODYS: for folks who are interested in procuring the customs, take note that the customs will be auctioned off after the shows. 'Moody Idols' show closes in January, 2008, whereby Ted plans to (hopefully) take it on the road for one additional show in Calgary next Spring.
Ted says: "If there is a particular custom that the person is interested in, perhaps I can broker an arrangement with the artist to sell it prior to the auction. Anyone that is interested in a custom can contact me and we can talk about how to make a sale happen."Helen Christou Gallery
