g.i.joe stop motion film festival screening @ echo park film center (march 29)
the G.I.Joe Stop-Motion Film Festival will have a screening this coming March 29th @ the Echo Park Film Center (8pm-on) - on the first leg of their West Coast Tour. on show will be 25 stop-motion films from 2007, from all over the world including films from Brazil, Netherlands, Canada UK and Taiwan.
Gio Toninelo (Film Fest President / interviewed) says: "For our LA screening we choose the Echo Park Film Center, owned and founded by Paolo Davanzo, because the theater propagates the beauty of Do-It-Yourself (DIY) Film making; offering workshops and microcinema screenings to the public. To me that's the main attribute of the films screened at our festival. Pretty simple choice it was. Charles Doran (one of the filmmakers) will present the Festival in LA (he was the guy who put me in touch with the theater). We will have a collectibles giveaway, including a rare Storm Shadow 12" Figure." READ MORE
Gio adds: "Because we are a non-profit event, we screen the GI Joe Stop-Motion Film Festival at non-profit theaters as well. Is about bringing independent filmmakers in touch with independent Movie Houses. At the end everyone benefits from our event; especially the audience who gets to see marvelous films (normally films kept under wraps) on the big screen."
