while HORTON HEARS A WHO! is a CG-animated film adapted from the 1954 book by Dr. Suess and features the voices of Kim Carrey as Horton, and Steve Carell as the Mayor of Whoville.
PLOT: One day, Horton the elephant hears a cry from help coming from a speck of dust. Even though he can't see anyone on the speck, he decides to help it. As it turns out, the speck of dust is home to the Whos, who live in their city of Whoville. Horton agrees to help protect the Whos and their home, but this gives him nothing but torment from his neighbors, who refuse to believe that anything could survive on the speck. Still, Horton stands by the motto that, "After all, a person is a person, no matter how small." [via]
...actually the trailer posted top-of-post is not the one that's showing on local cable now, and is actually quite enjoyable (*gasp*). and im not ashamed to say it, but i am unfamiliar with Dr. Seuss' creations (except for the travesty that was "The Cat In Mike Myers' Hat" + "carrey Who Stole The Griinch" ) as i reckon i had a very "Chinese" childhood growing up (chinese folklore and fables were my diet) and early-to-tweenhood was filled with comicbook superheroes instead - so perhaps this may be the impetus to get me started on Dr. Seuss? heh ... Horton Hears A Who! releases March 14th 2008. meanwhile, here are some more Horton fer yas!
