"Today's press conference was unexpectedly cancelled due to a hostage crisis located at a nearby deli. In a selfless move, Mr. Dent entered the premises, exchanged himself for a woman who was being held at gunpoint, and negotiated the successful release of the remaining patrons in the restaurant. Watch this site for updates. We will release more details when they become available.

UPDATE 3:08AM:
Darnnit, I had to refresh the page at the exact 3:01 or 2 when my Safari browser crashed! By the time i logged-on, it was near 10-20 seconds later and I can only assume the Live Conference was disrupted by sniper gunshots via Frank Notaro, who had apparently taken a girl hostage and has taken refuge in a shop (what shop along the street, i know not tho). Note: all this drama takes place only via audio, very much like a staged-drama :)
Amidst shouted negotiations with fellow police officers (whose names all flew by me LOL - there were 2 primaries tho), Notaro alludes to have been set-up (to die), just like his partner was - he'd claim he saw his partner and son get killed (i missed who he fingered as the killer/s). The 2 primary Officers discuss Notaro's past history, someone mentions something to the effect of thinking it was Notaro who killed his partner? (i may be totally wrong here tho). One is named "Nolan" hehehehe
More police action on rooftops, gunning for a target-solution on Notaro - who shouts at everyone to back away ... someone's finger slips and a shot is fired, angering Notaro.
Police officers see a civilian get up and walk up the street (i'd assume everyone was face down on the ground?). They recognize him to be Harvey Dent.
Dent approaches the shop and seems to be negotiating with Notaro inside (no one can hear exactly what they are saying, just seeing Dent gesturing). Dent enters the shop and apparently trades himself for the girl. Primaries mention Dent's bravery.
The girl exits. Then followed by Dent a few seconds after. (I'm not sure if Notaro followed behind tho) - Amidst more shouting and possibly gunshot (which i cannot be sure of) - Someone shouts "Get Down! Get Down!" and the transmission cuts out and returns to static.

I Believe in Harvey Dent will hold a press conference today at 3:00 pm (EDT) for an important announcement regarding his campaign. The audio of this event will be streamed live on this site courtesy of James Levine of the Gotham Times.
as of this post, tis near (exactly) one hour in Singapore til 3pm (ie: tis 2+am Monday morning here now) - and darnnit i've got tasks to complete URGH - but the current sound of live-static on the website is pretty intriguing dammit ... meanwhile here is the email-reminder i literally JUST had popped into my inbox...
EMAIL TITLE: Live Press conference today (3:00 pm EDT)
"Harvey Dent is committed to truth and honesty in governing. He is also committed to truth and honesty in campaigning. And the honest truth is that we've had a tough week.
Everyone who knows Harvey Dent knows that the vicious smears by a mysterious group calling itself "Concerned Citizens for a Better Gotham" are not true. Harvey Dent is innocent of these charges, and the truth will triumph.
Harvey Dent believes that the movement to take back Gotham is bigger than one person. It's never been about Harvey Dent. It's about our hopes for our city. It's about you.
Harvey Dent has always said that if he becomes a distraction from the bigger issues of the movement to fight crime and corruption, he'll make the best decision for the movement itself.
