the absolute edition sandman 1/6 deluxe collector figure
"The popular 1:6 scale deluxe collector figure line extends into story-specific characterizations with the addition of THE SANDMAN (ABSOLUTE EDITION)! The Sandman is the first in a new line of 1:6 scale figures inspired by the Absolute Editions, and the first VERTIGO character to get the 1:6 scale figure treatment."
"Dressed in an intricate and authentically detailed costume, including a 4-panel tattered cloak, The Sandman comes with many character-specific accessories, including his ruby necklace, the Helm of Dreams, the Key to Hell, Goldie the Gargoyle, Matthew the Raven and a display stand. Packaged in a special slipcase to evoke the Absolute Editions that inspired it.". [via]
Slated for a March 18th 2009-release, with a SRP of US$125-per - is this THE 1/6th figure Sandman-fans have been waiting for all these long years? CLICK THRU FOR MORE
Am digging the conception of the figure - altho as much as I am an fan of Morpheus (before he got replaced by Daniel :p) - without the benefit of an actual figure in hand, my impressions are limited to online-images, and unfortunately the figure looks absolutely horrid in these pics. The mullet removes to fit the helm? Or a total change of heads? Flabbergasted am I. My "Dream" is defiled.
Perhaps a Sandman figure will be on display at the current San Diego Comic Convention? Placate me with pictures please ... lie to me that everything's gonna be alright ~ help ease my sufferage, I beg of thee!
"the first VERTIGO character to get the 1:6 scale figure treatment." = now THIS particular sentence conjures up delish thoughts and wishlists: gimme the entire ENDLESS, characters from FABLES, and maybe even a Spider Jerusalum? Now if only DC Direct focuses on their 1/6th-line with the care and attention as they do their action figures, then perhaps folks like me will stop whining and bitching.
