B'Bye 2008 & Hello 2009! The Last Day of 2008.

and so I woke up this wednesday morning, crusty-eyed and all (as most morning wakeup rituals involve crusty-eyes to diferent degrees of crustiness). the buzzing of the fumigation machine echoing across the streets where smoke has engulfed an empty primary school basketball court (metaphorically surreal to say the least) and had gotten me wondering how cool it would be to just fumigate your own past like that? and when the smoke clears, everything would be brand new (if not "fresh" - becoz how fresh can "fresh" be after being smoked out by a mixed pesticide cocktail innit? heh). having thought that, i realized i may still be in mid-slumber and dreaming as i always am and do, and that i should somehow wake up from it all and trudge on with life ... nevertheless, welcome to the last day of two thousand and eight! ... well, singapore time anyways :p

my last day of 2008 will be spent online - blogging frantically to complete tasks set-on my myself, and coming to grips with recognizing i'd never be able to finish them all (tis a daily battle, lemme tells ya). hopefully in between i can catch a afternoon-rerun of northern exposure, and maybe consider getting a dvd movie to watch thru the new year ... maybe wall*e? something family friendly i suppose (why are dvds so damned expensive anyways!). yes, tis a quiet new year and totally suitable for my self-imposed hermit exile from humanity lol.

for me, 2008 deserves a whole new blog-post on it's own (heh) whereas 2009 would hopefully see the next evolution of this blog you are reading. the trick is to achieve what i personally want to do with the ability to achieve them with. at the end of the blog-day, unfortunately tis about "finances" or rather "financial ability", and 2008 was ... tough. here's hoping 2009 would be slightly kinder ... but it seems tis off on a not-so-good start ....

the above is the (extract of a) reply to my e-inquiry about the status of said DONATE-button and function on paypal. i had decided to try out this function, in lieu of keeping TRE ads-free, as well as possibly earn a humble-keep for my feeble blogging-efforts. seems now i had registered in vain. a great way to end the year, no doubt. yes i am bummed out and the concept of a fumigation seems pretty enticing right about now ... but we move on, we trudge the good trudge ...

my sincere thanks to everyone who have offered a kind word and support all this while. appreciate your thoughts and intentions. i will have to reassess where this will lead me next, and as well as the status of this blog and it's future-in-trudging . thank you for reading and have a fabulous new year! rock on, folks, rock on :)
