Beastie Boy Cochese by Wade Schin (for "Under The Influence" @ Gallery 1988)

Peep Seattle-based artist Wade Schin's contribution to the "Under The Influence" Beastie Boys-tribute artshow @ Gallery 1988 LA (Jan 8-29 / blogged) with his 5 inch tall sculpture (including base) BEASTIE TOY: COCHESE!

Made of 3D acrylic photopolymer sculpt, and hand painted with acrylics - the "Ill Communication"-inspired character comes complete with a paper tie (with markers and colored pencil), monkeybar-moustache and a pair bull-horns, perhaps to herald in the Year of the Ox? (Chinese Zodiac calendar, yo). FYI: The sculpt has since been SOLD at the show (congrats, Wade!) ... Hands up if you folks think this should be made into a production-piece? *TRE-Raises-Hands*

SABOTAGE (Directed by Spike Jonze):

Another one of Wade's contributions is this 7.75 x 7.75 inch artwork of the jumpin-n-hoppin' trio in their primary-colored getup in the music video for "Alive" (or at least that's what I remember about the mv :p). Finished in marker, ink, colored pencil on paper, mounted on panel.

ALIVE is available priced at US$350 - interested folks to email gallery1988 [at] aol.com or call (323) 937 - 7088.
