About That Unnamed Sloshed Sloth by YESJORN (WIP)
Fledgeling Netherlands-based toy-maker YESJORN shares with TOYSREVIL an exclusive first-look at his resin figure that he's working on currently - and tis so new, it doesn't even have an "official" name as yet!
Standing 8 cm tall (ground - tip of the hat) and 4 cm wide - the WIP-figure (a drunk sloth) packs in quite a bit of quirky and funny details, like a missing shoe and a pair'o-pants! And with that party hat on his head and mug in hand, you know he's had a tad too much to drink at the old office party, innit? CLICK THRU for more pics and a little quickie-Q&A with YESJORN!
[FYI: Above-center is the original clay sculpt of the figure]
TOYSREVIL: Did you sculpt and cast the figure yourself, Jorn?
YESJORN: I have made it up, designed, sculpted and casted it myself. Multitalent don't you think? ;-)
TOYSREVIL: Only way to go, dude! And how many colorways should folks be expecting?
YESJORN: Don't know yet, first cast and sand them all. Then I decide on colors. I will definately have an all black and all white one.
TOYSREVIL: Do keep us updated, yeh? What stage is the figure at currently? And do describe to us what's he about?
YESJORN: I'm now at the stage of casting and will soon start painting and selling them. This little figurine is a sloth at a company party. His party hat (is) still on but already lost his pants and a shoe. In other words....drunk as can be and not the slightest attempt to go home to ms. sloth.
TOYSREVIL: A Sloshed-Sloth! LOL - lurving his crooked-drunk-smile too :p ~ Is this figure your first toy? And what have you been up to lately?
YESJORN: This is my first toy ever and therefore I'm in the middle of exploring materials and techniques. But this is definitely not going to be my last. I've also recently been working on a childrens book (shown below) and the main characters will probably be toys too.
TOYSREVIL: Looking forward to more updates, Jorn - including the launch of your website, and a name for the sloshed-Sloth!
