In collaboration with the world famous Otaku website Dannychoo.com and the Internet’s largest cosplay destination Cure, OTACOOL 2 promises even more stimulating and groundbreaking content. In keeping with the same concept of “OTAKU is COOL”, the next volume of OTACOOL will focus on cosplayers from around the world!

PRESS-CONTINUED: In November 2009, Kotobukiya released the milestone publication OTACOOL: WORLDWIDE OTAKU ROOMS [blogged] in collaboration with Danny Choo. Gathering international media attention, this publication received critical acclaim for its CGM (Consumer Generated Media) approach, where content is created through the Internet in collaboration with numerous fans and readers.

Now Koto is back with OTACOOL 2: WORLDWIDE COSPLAYERS. The question is “How well do you know cosplay?” If you’re not familiar with the world of cosplay, the profoundly compiled book is sure to defy your image! Tagging up with Dannychoo.com and Cure, Kotobukiya brings you featured photographs of over 150 Cosplayers world-wide, with attendees over 24 countries, carefully chosen from over 500 submissions world wide. Along with the photographs, Koto also held an online “OTACOOL Original Mascot Contest”, with more then 30 illustrators submitting, Koto has chosen French illustrator Vinhnyu character “Oda Kurumi” as the official Otacool Mascot character.(Please see photo bellow)

Koto has plans to feature Vinhnyu’s art work in future OTACOOL promotion and publication. Written in both English and Japanese language the book is energetic, innovative and simply fun.

Not only does the book feature plentiful cosplayers, the book also introduces various aspects of the culture through interviews with companies, websites, and famous cosplayers that are involved in the industry. Furthermore the book introduces fundamentals such as how to cosplay and rules and manners of cosplay for people who want to get involved right away.
