Project Singa: Design A Singa Competition & Project Singa Custom Showcase
At first glance, the SINGA 2.5" figurine from Play Imaginative, brought back memories of my school-days, when Singa The Courtesy Lion was seen plastered on Courtesy campaign posters which somehow embedded themselves with our Nation's psyche, so much so it is as much a mascot-icon as the Merlion, IMHO. And holding it in hand, was another boost of toy-joy, as all the abovementioned-memories suddenly manifested unto an actual toy! [Prototype first posted HERE]
The DIY-Blank Singa were passed out to invited local artists for the Project Singa Custom Showcase, which is tentatively scheduled for a launch November 12th, alongside the festivities that are a part of the Project Singa event. Current roster for the showcase include wanton doodle, Wrecker Tike, The Killer Gerbil, eeshaun, and yours truly. [CLICK THRU for another Singa-toy snap]
You too can take part in the Design-A-Singa Competition, where you get to design your very own version of Singa, in two categories: (1) Design/Art Student Category and (2) Public Category.
All you need to do is to download the contest pack (HERE), and design you Singa on the printed out template. Do take note the deadline is October 29th, for all snail mail or online digital entries!
