An Exclusive Look Inside Mystery Bag Contents from Michael Lau 10th Anniversary Exhibition @ Times Square, Hong Kong
We first brought you an overview of Michael Lau's 10th Anniversary exhibition at Time Sqaure, Hong Kong (circa X-mas 2010). Now we have a closer look at one of the figure-sets that was on offer, as procured by toy-fan David Cornelius Tan of Filmoo (and one of Indonesia's "Toy-Mafia" - thanks, bro!). Do CLICK THRU for exclusive snaps and descriptions!
Yes, no, the purchase isn't mine (doubt if ML knows I even exist, yo! LOL). Nveertheless, I love me my toy-reviews, and Guest Reviews are also welcomed - hit me at toysreviler [at] gmail.com
At the exhibition, we can buy a mystery "goodie bag" (with a price tag of 499HK dollar) - with unknown contents - it could either be any of his older vinyl figures (check out the hoot insert). WHat David did instead was choosing the other goodie lottery, and ended up with the other option of a black sealed bag (same price) featuring a totebag, including postcards (which make up a whole month calendar, on it's side) - "which looks 'unique' with blank numbers, not all fill with normal calendars".
Now David literally "taunts" us with the Crazy Michael vinyl figure he had bought, without opening it! This figure was also seen as the huge mascot sculpt o display at Times Square. The figure features zero articulation, and at it's back - there's a writing at the exposed "brain" region, with the words "SMCA KESAZY".
In addition, David also scored was the skateboard "which shows the characters ML was making 10 years ago" - guessed David. The wooden figure (shown in the postcard) was also selling at the exhibition, limited to around 199 pcs each. David adds: " it looks 'similar' like the one on postcard, but it's different".
Unfortunately David did not score either of the 12" Crazy Michael figures - but I reckon we are lucky to have a little taste of what products were on offer - courtesy of David … aaaahhhh who am I kidding? Gimme All Your Michael Lau Toooooyyyyyyysss!!!!
Heh.
