Toy-Review: Zombie Chuck by Brian Fyffe
ZOMBIE CHUCK is a comic-book character created by Brian Fyffe and as well is a part of a toy series with this incarnation featuring a sculpt by Sharon Visker and produced by Adam Smith Studios (as clearly stated on the header-card on the bagged figurine shown above).
Priced at US$15 - Chuck was made available in a variety of colorways - with this particular blue being a Toy-Street exclusive edition - available thru Tenacious Toys! (Thanks, Benny!)
The Zombie Chuck figurine stands 5-inches tall - including the a base with his name etched on it - and is a non-articulated resin figure. Kudos to sculptwork which is a splitting 3D-visage of the undead character in the 2D-comicbook in the indie/alternative genre. Hey, I have a penchant for "zombies" (I'll be having a zombie-themed contest coming up too lol) and this figure is a simple delight to have and display.
Hopefully one day we will see a fully-painted production piece of Chuck for sale. Meanwhile be on the lookout for upcoming Zombie Chuck accessories - featuring a "meatball sub" (Chuck’s favorite food) and a tombstone (Tobe available in glow-in-the-dark only). And as well check out the step-by-step making-of the Zombie Chuck prototype here.
ZOMBIE CHUCK was also one of the five finalist nominees in the category of "Best Toy From A Comic" in the recent Designer Toy Awards 2011 - so that's one indication of it's coolness to fans, IMHO.
Am actually gagging to read the comicbook too tho! Seems Issue #1 will see a re-release in August, and I can only hope it'll be made available in the online store.
