AMOEBAHOOD by Coolrain
Korean hiphop group, Dynamic Duo is celebrating its 10th anniversary with various special project and performances. This AMOEBAHOOD series created by famed Korean figure-designer Coolrain is the first collaboration figure work with hiphop musicians. The figures were even seen on the cover of their DIGILOG1/2 record! (Check out the video embedded at base of this post).
One of the highlights for Dynamic Duo was the exhibition in SangSang Plaza - which launched November 25th and exhibits thru December 4th. It will showcase their decade's existence with different sectors of artists participating.
Fans will have the chance to see in-person Amoebahood figures composed of Dynamic Duo's special 7 characters. For this project, both figure artist Coolrain, and their own visual art members collaborated together. Also included in the mix are hiphop designer GFX, photo artist Choi, Jae Won and art director Kim, Dae Hong. Isn't it great to see all practitioners of pop culture working together on toys? LOL
In the exhibition, they will show and sell "Amoebahood", a blind box of limited Edition. Amoebahood will include Gaeko, Choiza (Dynamic Duo members), Musician team Supreme Team of Amoebaculture, Primary (producer), its trademark Horse, and Gorilla with secret box format. Coolrain also mentions to TOYSREVIL for folks to look out for one special 'Golden' secret figure - for anyone who pulls this - Dynamic Duo is going to give surprise performance event for him or her only! Check out this link on ordering blind-boxes!
Besides the blind box, there is a Special 100pcs limited edition "wood case" available at the exhibition - which includes special CD, cassette tape and 7 amoebahood characters! Oh Gosh! Check out this link to order your wood case!
As well shown below are 200% Gray Version for Dynamic Duo - made by Coolrain Studio. Not too sure if they are available for sale tho … meanwhile, check out my dedicated FB-album HERE for a closer look at the individual figurines! Featuring the unmistakable visual-aesthtics of Coolrain, these look great and puts a smile in my toy-heart, and is a swell way to welcome the end of 2011, IMHO. In my own opinion, not to missed in your urban art toy collection!
