a festival ends and another begins yet again

well, the french film festival had just ended and t'was truly great fun (for most flicks anyways :p)

my personal french fest wrap-up
*read more after the jump*

the tits and ass sombre mood and mystery that was L'annulaire ... the emotional decay of Son Frere ... the macabre madness that was Bernie ... the excellent emotional journey of Le Grand Voyage (*highly recommended) and the exceptional visual treat and fun that was Narco, The Adventures of Gustav Klopp (***highly recommended) = t'was a memorable celluloid trip indeed and i thank everyone that organized this :)

(*do babelfish the french sites into english here*)

and as one ends, yet another is gonna begin soon: the 9th German Film Festival (happening between 25 Nov to 9 Dec) ...

some flicks of interest:

~ Go for Zucker - An Unorthodox Comedy (Alles auf Zucker!) (always a sucker for comedies)
~ The Edukators (view trailer here)
~ Sophie Scholl - The Final Days (view trailer here)
~ Wim Wender's Don't Come Knocking (view trailer here)
~ Agnes and His Brothers (for sum smut. bleh)
~ and even Tigerwomen Grow Wings (altho my taste for docus has waned drastically of late ...)

(*altho i'd like to give a shout-out of appreciation for the organization of this film fest; what with corresponding websites to the respective movies, it really helps in understanding what is available and truly helps in the decision making of purchasing a film, IMHO of coz*)

so like, honestly; where the fook am i gonna find the dosh to pay for these celluloid-delights? not that im being an ungrateful sod for not appreciating all the efforts to bring foreign-flicks in, innit? heck, i welcome them with open arms and legs and with a tender kiss on both cheeks, innit? but the ability to breathe (much less purchase a popcorn and a drink) is in question, as i lay my buttcheeks down unto them comfy cinema seats and loose myself with wonton abandonment within the celluloid world ... doesn't matter if i dun understand a single thing they're saying, as long as there's decent readable subtitles? im a happy camper, i am :)

seating scenarios + popping corn
i've always been a fan of Orchard Cineleisure's seats. wide enuff to stretch me chubby legs and angle my arms. ergonomically-sound and really comfy. a decent parallel would be GV-Grand's, but in terms of popcorn? GV's smashes Cathay's anytime. tasting a tad fresher and crunchier than most times soggy Cathay's, IMHO ... altho i really do miss Shaw/Lido's melted-buttered-popcorn (*YUUUMMMMMSSSS*), i do not miss their shitty and uncomfortable seats, IMHO, of coz. i like popcorn, yes i do. :)

hope the featurefilm that i might be involved in will delay their december start date here's hoping i'd be able to make some moolah and catch what i wanna catch within the timeframe (which is sorta good, coz it makes you get off your ass to actually GO and CATCH them, instead of being lady-lethargy's bitch and wait for the commercial relase to go off-screen and gripe about missing it laters, innit? heh)

the trick now is, to make some money ... but how, dammit?
(and please dun tell me to go sell me arse, coz they've been bookedup by them darn filmfestseats already! BAH :p)

heh
