of chinese new year munchies

:: LIFE IN SINGAPORE / FOOD / CNY ::
one of the great things about Chinese New Year celebrations, are the food, or rather the new-year-snacks/goodies that fill the household (as well as your ballooning-waists) this festive season ... and here are some of the "regular suspects":

(*Disclaimer: these pics were taken a year ago and posted on my multiply, but the food remains the same! sort-of...yes, i is lazy *bleh* ;p)

CNY01 shown here are mandarin oranges (Kum) and itz good luck to insert a red packet (Ang-Pow) in them when displaying at home.

CNY02 (clockwise front top-left) roasted cashew nuts (killer on the throat - but i lurve it), roast/barbeque pork slices (Bar-Quah - my cat actually becomes my best fren whenever i eat them... she'll just invite herself over! she lurves them...bitch... hahaha), Garlic Roasted Peanuts (yum) and Sugared Dried Cuttlefish.

CNY03 (clockwise front top-left) soft-chewy candy-sweets, spicy biscuits (really! balachan-flavor maybe?), traditional Egg Rolls (yumz) and egg-cakes (Kuay Bang Cake).

CNY04 (clockwise front top-left) peanut biscuits (homemade from somewhere - yumz), hard peanut cake (dunno what else to call it :p - my fav all year round!), pistachio (it was filled all the way to the top... was. heh) and some nutty-biscuit-thingie ... aaahhh, JUST EAT THEM LAH! *muahahaha*

*happy lunar new year's everyone!*
