the toy detective chronicles: the off world creatures mystery

:: TOY-DETECTIVE ::
and while we're all waiting with baited breathe til the 16th of December for the reveal of Michael Lau's intriguing new Off World Creatures, i'd let the Toysrevil-Toy-Detective (© 2006) stick his vinyl-sniffing nose into guessing who the characters are gonna be!

the new online promo-flyer (i've cut out the base text):

circled-in-red = been seeing a lot of this "mark" on the teaser images ~ are they actually flying saucers? = very likely so, i reckon! or maybe tis just a dirt-mark? *hyuks*

*mondo-more vinyl-theories after the jump*

now lemme breakdown the individual characters on the promo-image:

based on this CrazyToyzForum entry:
"Off World Creature is one of the figure Michael's crossover with "Project after Dark" by Prodip, and it is part of the "3300" season one. Prodip will release his DVD before Christmas. The DVD might be also available at Michael (Gallery). The DVD is about UFO which Prodip (is) into very much. " = Prodip was a former member of the now-defunct LMF / LazyMuthaFuckah - and is tight with ML :)

and i googled "Project After Dark" to find this video trailer:

which really leads nowhere (but tis cool to see ;p) but would somehow explain this:
"The upcoming CSBOOTH will not be called CSBOOTH13. Michael want to call it CSBOOTH3300 ... Is because Michael was into the show call 4400. He thinks the show has a good story line and each of the character in the show has some kind of special power. Michael think his friends are similar, each of them are weird and is like alien got some special power ..." [via crazytoyz]

all the above UFOs+Prodip-projects then explains this image:

the biggest figure shown-left (#3) and it's markings match that of the designs within the pages of Gardentoyzbook [images via crazytoyz] = which to me confirms Prodip's involvement and i'd dare claim one mystery solved! (*heh*)

which in turns leaves the next obvious (and not much of a "mystery", im afraid LOL):

the rumored "Future"-figure (image-left #5) - based on the artist Futura, and Womax (image-right #1) - which in turn is based on James Lavelle of Mo'Wax = which i reckon tis a done deal :p

another obvious one (IMHO) would be the Futura Pointman (image-right-below #4)

with the hardest to guess/solve being #2 (image-left) ~ is it Michael Lau's own Missy-figure? or maybe even his fren, Cat's? hard to say, seeing the pointed-feets of the figure lends itself to Futura's designs, doesn't it? or is it a female-figure to begin with? *hhhmmm*

and then i re-read this:
"The difference for this CSBOOTH is Michael will get his friends to do their own stuff rather than Michael creating them like usual. After they are finish, Michael will fix it up for them and then put into production. He say...this project is fun..and fill with suprise." [via] = so maybe it is not about ML designing any of his figures? or maybe tis ML putting on his vinyl-touches to his "friends' designs"? *only time will tell*

thank you for reading this far. any comments or conspiracy theories to share? *heh*
