Big Numbers #3

I have been reading comicbooks since i was but a wee toddler (okay fine, 12-ish years old - first copy being a reprint Kirby-drawn Fantastic Four bought at a neighbourhood provision shop and read while I had my first public haircut). Fast forward to the late-80s and early-90s, where I'd discovered the art of Bill Sienkiewicz - both confused by, and utterly charmed x intrigued with his style, I devoured his comicbooks with post-teen-relish, from the newsprint pages of The New Mutants, to his ground-breaking (IMHO) painted panel work in Elektra: Assassin limited-series (still one of my prized possessions). Amidst all the comicbook hoopla, my journey into "alternative" / independent comics - where spandex and color existed naught - was strange and life-changing trip indeed.

One of these books was the Alan Moore-written BIG NUMBERS. It was until much later when I realized that the publication stopped at #2 (both issues of which are also amongst my prized possessions, along with Dave McKean's CAGES, Black Orchid, Arkum Asylum etc - aka all-painted graphic novels - yes, even early Stray Toasters :p). And now, here's an opportunity to partaketh of the RARE and Unpublished Xerox copy of Big Numbers #3 - courtesy of "glycon" on LJ (and via the kind permission of Alan Moore, no less!) Thank the Comicbook-Gawds for the internet! Read more about the story of how the treasured-issue came into his possession here [Caution: Heavy-page load ahead / 40-images of artwork] and/or CLICK THRU for flickr-slideshow of the scanned pages of Big Numbers #3 (includes art from Al Columbia)!
